I’m excited to share that my paper has officially been published, and it highlights an applied project I’m truly proud of: the GPS Project at Gateway Christian Academy.

GPS stands for Gateway Parent Support, a PTA-style program created to strengthen family-school partnerships through faith-based engagement, consistent communication, and organized volunteer leadership.

Rather than a traditional research study, this work focuses on application and real-world impact by using Edgar Schein’s (2010) Organizational Culture Model to strengthen family-school connection and increase parent involvement through a more intentional communication and culture-building approach.

Using Schein’s framework, I explored culture through three levels:

1. Artifacts (what you can see): branding, events, communication tools, and volunteer systems

2. Espoused Values (what the organization says it values): the mission, shared goals, and expectations for partnership

3. Basic Assumptions (what people believe deep down): trust, belonging, and whether parents feel their involvement truly matters

The goal of GPS is simple but powerful: to create a faith-based, long-term framework for parent involvement by strengthening communication, building trust, and giving families a clear pathway to serve, lead, and partner with the school’s mission.

If you’re passionate about parent engagement, organizational culture, and strategic communication in your business, I’d love to connect and share more about the project and what I learned through the process.
